Get ready
1. Google account and Google Drive Required
Sign into your Google account and confirm that you can open and use Google Drive. We start with Google because you can use the same Google account to sign up for ChatGPT and Netlify more quickly.

Sign into ChatGPT on the laptop you will bring to class. ChatGPT Plus is required for the workshop — $20/month, purchased separately from OpenAI. This is separate from the $5 workshop fee paid to Señor Rosa. If you already have Plus, you do not need another subscription.

Create and confirm a Netlify account if you want to participate in the website-hosting demonstration. Netlify is an optional, free hosting service that we will use during one of the demos. You can still attend the class without it.

- Bring business materials you would actually like to work with.
- Use working copies. Do not bring the only copy of an important file.
- Remove sensitive information before class, including Social Security numbers, passwords, credentials, payment-card data, private customer or employee information, tax records, and medical information.
- Use sample, fictional, anonymized, or redacted data whenever possible.

Jake is our fictional pink-and-black Doberman entrepreneur. His business is intentionally ridiculous; the files and workflows are not. We can safely copy, upload, edit, break and rebuild Jake's business before touching real business material.

Introductions, verify ChatGPT, Google and Netlify accounts, open the shared training files, and make sure you can find them again.
1:30–2:00 · Create a branded business document

Watch Jake's business material become a professional branded, fillable document. Ask questions. Then repeat the workflow yourself using Jake's training business.
Pattern: source material → business context → request → refine → useful file → save it somewhere you understand.
Workflow: create the document → save it → open it on a phone → print or share it.
Why this matters: You can create or update a quote at a customer site, send the PDF immediately, or print a clean copy when you need a physical handout.
